Brigham Young and Wyoming Play Three Games This Week and BYU Can Extend Punchers

Having swept a two-game series with Utah last weekend, Wyoming's onrushing Cowboys are preparing this week for their conference playoff here Thursday, Friday and Saturday with the Brigham Young Cougars.

The Cougars were victorious in their two-game series with Utah State last weekend. They defeated the Farmers 44-38 Friday night and then stopped them 63-59 Saturday night.

Wyoming Wins Pair

Wyoming drubbed Utah Friday night 75-46 in a fast, rough game that saw Kenny Sailors scoring 27 points and Milo Komenich getting 19. But Saturday night was a different story. The Punchers were hard pressed to win 45-31.

The Utes were a very determined ball club and they played their best game of the year. The result was that when the first half ended the Redskins found themselves nursing an 18-17 lead.

Punchers Pull Ahead

The Ute star gradually dimmed after that. When Fred Sheffield hit a free throw to make it 32-26 the Utes trailed only 8 points. But Komenich once and Sailors twice made it 38-26. Then Milo hit a free throw and Sailors a basket and Wyoming had iced the game, leading 41-26.
