Blond Kenny Sailors, fast-moving guard of the Westerners, fired a rally that pulled Wyoming from behind with four minutes to play and sent them on to what turned into an easy triumph. The Cowboys spark plug, voted the game's outstanding player, led his mates with a total of 16 points.

Until those last few minutes of play it had been an all-out battle between the western regional champions and the Hoyas from Washington, who won the eastern crown by defeating N.Y.U. and De Paul.
